do you have an idea about the price range of the GTI in the gulf? i presume the prices are similar in Oman and Bahrain


i bought my MKV GTI in late 2005 for (11,500 OMR) (~29,900 USD) with 18" huffs which were optional at the time and cost 500 OMR more


i believe they are selling the full option mk6 GTI for something around 12,500 OMR (~32,400 USD) not sure


they still didnt tell me the price here at the dealer but someone told me theyre expecting a 2000 OMR (5000 USD) jump over the MK6 if thats true that would be TOO MUCH ... same price as the MK6 .:R

yeah although price are very similar in the gulf, but still no one knows anything about the price of the GTI. I spoke to our local VW brand manager; & he told me they don't have any idea about the price range as still they don't know what are the options that will be available for us.

whaaat?!! 2000 OMR seems like a lot! I believe the price will be officially announced at the beginning of next month "Geneva Motor Show" along with the launch of the production-GTI. but until then anything you hear about the price is pure speculation.

Regarding pricing I was told by someone inside VW kuwait that the price is relatively the same or there may be a negligible increase. I believe there would not be an increase because as I read the cost of the mk7 gti is 30% lower than the mk6 gti (official vw statement). So they lower the cost and increase price? I doubt.

Hi Abdullah, long time bro! I was in Bahrain just a month ago btw guys can anyone confirm if their country sell 2 door GTIs or manual GTIs. Kuwait only sells 4 door DSG. so I might be buying mine from another country. i want a 4 door 6 speed.

+1 here, although I might change my mind after I test drive the DSG and lots of brainstorming.

In oman you can order whatever you want, my friend had a 6mt gti, and another had a 3 dr R32, all were mkv though, don't see any mk6 3 doors though here.... Maybe just someone didn't order


oh yeah, and I asked the dealer last night about the gti and they said its delayed for the mid east till nov/ dec
