interesting that (so far) it's just repair under wtty and not recall. It mentions how your airbag can not work!?!?

Yes, it stated that the torn clock spring may cause the airbag loose it's electrical connection.
What I would suspect though, is that if this happens, your airbag light would come on, as mentioned in the letter (also states that controls may not function)
So it's not like VW is just going to let people cruise around with a bad clock spring without knowing there is a problem, you'll know.
I don't think that is worthy of a recall.


I got my letter a week or so back and one for my wife's Tiguan just showed up yesterday.

Is MK7.5 affected? My MY19 R makes a click noise (probably from the cancelling gears) every time I straighten the steering wheel while the turn signal is engaged (not the light tap).
