Volkswagen is teasing the Golf VII R which is likely to be shown at first as a concept.
The online reveal will occur in two weeks while the public debut is most likely set for March at the Geneva Motor Show. Chances are it will be a concept previewing the production model scheduled for a Frankfurt launch in September.
Under the hood it will probably have a 2.0-liter TFSI EA888 engine producing around 290 hp (216 kW). The engine will be connected to a six-speed manual or a six-speed DSG sending power to a Haldex all-wheel drive system. Judging by the speedometer on VW's website, the Golf VII R will be able to reach a top speed (most likely electronically limited) of 250 km/h (155 mph).
Sales should commence in early 2014 with prices in Germany starting at 38,000 EUR. Until then, Volkswagen will introduce the production version of the Golf VII GTI.
