VCDS 13-Auto Dist. Reg -- Status: Cannot be reached 0100

Hi,

I just got a VW Golf 7 2013 and the front radar sensor says its unavailable and cruise control doesn't work for me either and so I got it scanned and for one of the modules it says

13-Auto Dist. Reg -- Status: Cannot be reached 0100

What could the problem be?

The ACC radar. Check all connections for continuity.

I have checked the wires going into the radar and they have voltage and i also disconnected the negative wire from the battery and there was resistance

Would that be the gateaway? Because I do get a fault in the vcds for the gateway and the engine both saying

No Communications with Cruise Control (Front) Distance Sensor

Internal failure of the radar.

If you've confirmed continuity on all connections then your radar is FUBAR.

Gateway can be. Because if you didn't crash, radar sensor is not a material that is too weak to fail on its own. But any short circuit in the vehicle can easily burn the gateway, because all the hardware is connected to the gateway.

First you can check all fuses,

The sensors are known to have road (salt) water leak into them. Some units can be brought back to life with a thorough inner corrosion removal, the application of contact spray and being resealed with silicone.

Hi, how do you access the radar to disconnect the blug to check the voltage please? do you have to remove the bumper (mine is the dome style radar)
