Hello,

I am getting excited to choose a new GTI when the Performance Package becomes available in the US.

Does anyone know for certain which wheels will be made available for the GTI cars? I see that the standard GTI wheel will likely be the 18" Austin wheel. Other markets get the 19" Santiago wheel with the Performance Package, yes?

I think the 18" Austin wheel looks okay, however I am interested in some other factory options. The 2014 MK6 GTI had a few nice choices and I'd be surprised if the MK7 is only offered with one option.

Thanks in advance for your insight.

And in other markets the Brooklyns are the standard wheels. 17" and they show the big brakes even bigger! Better comfort, less weight, cheaper tyres, same (if not better) steering feel. Very satisfied I went the standard way!

I'm still hoping that the US spec Performance Package will come with these wheels:

Australia VW calls it the 'GTI Performance'...their Performance Package comes with the big Santiago wheels to clear the upgraded brakes (carsguide.com.au):

If they don't, I wonder if I could talk the dealer into upgrading them from their parts department prior to delivery!?

I tried up some 17" wheels (used for winter tyres only) on the GTi PP.
Clearance between calliper body and rim was 0.75mm (0.030")
That's way I think all PP cars come with minimum sized 18" wheels.

According to my booklet that's shows all of the 2015 options, there is no mention of the 19" wheels or any other 19" wheels, although it shows the performance package option

Saw this in the 2015 GTI brochure pdf:

Performance Package. Some of us are harder to please. That’s
why we’re pleased to offer this available Performance Package,
which adds an additional 10 horsepower (total output of 220 hp),
a torque-sensing limited-slip differential, and high-performance
front and rear brakes with GTI embossed lettering.

There is no mention of a different wheel being offered for the PP :(
