Upgrade factory head unit to aftermarket

Has anyone tried upgrading their factory head unit to an aftermarket DDIN unit in their 2015 GTI? I came across this from Metra: http://www.metraonline.com/part/99-9013HG and was looking to install this with the Alpine INE-W960.

While this installation should work, I was wondering if I would lose any functionality in the factory head unit, such as flat tire monitor, car settings, etc?

Does anyone have any experience with this?

Pretty sure you would lose all OEM stuff on screen.

Yes, you will lose all of the vehicle tie-in stuff.

TPMS will still be displayed on the MFD, but to reset the sensors you'll have to use a VagCom. You'll also lose the steering wheel audio controls. If you have CarNet, the audio coming from the other side will not work, and your bluetooth hands-free telephone functionality won't work.

The hands free setup can probably be repurposed by splicing your aftermarket microphone input plug to the OEM harness wiring though.
