Updating VW GOLF NAV

Hi,
I have been trying to update my Nav for my Golf, I used the DiscoverCare tool to download it onto a SD card which was formatted to FAT32 but once i put it into the SD slot in my car it didnt start any download and still says please insert a data medium with valid navigation data. i have tried using a different SD card but still doesnt work. I also tried downloading the file off the website and extracting it to the SD.

i wonder if i am putting the wrong version on my SD card or there is something wrong with my radio?

SD Card in my car: Europe (V2) 5G0919866 D
Version i dowloaded: Europe 1 for Media Gen2 / 5NA.919.866.CS 2010 EU1 2023/24

If the SD card needs to stay inserted for your maps to work then you need to put the new maps on your original SD card.

To be safe make a backup of your original SD card first. Then erase and load the new maps.

I had a old version in the Original SD when i bought the car so decided to see if i could update it, However when i did i never made a backup before erasing the data. could this have something to do with it?

Having the old data is just good so you can go back if the new update does not work. But you should be able to load new maps on original SD.

I may have misunderstood your first post. I thought you were saying you tried loading on a new SD card.

i could have worded it better my apologies. I tried to load the update on both the original & New SD
