Did you arc ecu with wrench when removing cables? Seen that fry a few.
I would think some other module would complain about the ECU being off the bus. I’ve seen weirder stuff, but he’s getting no codes now.Did you arc ecu with wrench when removing cables? Seen that fry a few.
Funnily thats the first thing I checked, I tried both the main and the spare, the spare needs a new battery, but it wont turn over with either keyThen most likely your ECM is fine. The problem is elsewhere. Silly question, have you checked the battery in the remote?
I didnt touch the ecu at all when installing/removing batteriesDid you arc ecu with wrench when removing cables? Seen that fry a few.
Got a more expensive obd2 tester and got 2 codes from the ecm: P305400: Starter does not turn mechanically, blocked or electrical malfunction, and U112300: Databus Error Value Received. As well as 2 codes from the ABS control module; B1168F2: Steering Angle Sensor- No initialization, and C114602: Tire Pressure Monitoring Display- Signal error.I would think some other module would complain about the ECU being off the bus. Copy the codes and clear them. Have you verified power to the starter?Got a more expensive obd2 tester and got 2 codes from the ecm: P305400: Starter does not turn mechanically, blocked or electrical malfunction, and U112300: Databus Error Value Received. So I'm looking at a bad starter and potentially a bad ABS control module? Should I clear the codes and then try and start the car, to see if it starts?
Don’t worry about the ABS module codes. Those will clear when you run the steering wheel scenario you did before and learn the tire sensors. The ECM codes are interesting. The starter especially. I would verify what Jim said. Make sure the starter gets power while cranking.Got a more expensive obd2 tester and got 2 codes from the ecm: P305400: Starter does not turn mechanically, blocked or electrical malfunction, and U112300: Databus Error Value Received. Cleared the codes, and got just 1 back regarding the starter: P305400: Starter does not turn mechanically, blocked or electrical malfunction. Im trying to locate the starter right now, but there arent many guides, on how to find itDon’t worry about the ABS module codes. You n me both! I got this car 3 months ago after my 2002 Mercedes E430 decided to break on me and need a new transmission. In the 3 months I've owned it, the clutch went out, had it replaced by carmax, then had my shop look at it, and they found the cv axle was leaking fluid everywhere due to being reinstalled improperly, so I've only really DRIVEN the car for a month and a half, after owning it for 3 months :/I'm here for the happy ending.
