Russian General lets slip about Transnistria.

Ukraine war: Russia 'plans to seize southern Ukraine' - BBC News

QUOTE:-
Gen Minnekayev, who is deputy commander of Russia's central military district, was speaking at a military event in the Sverdlovsk region.
"Control over the south of Ukraine is another way out to Transnistria, where there are also facts of oppression of the Russian-speaking population," Gen Minnekayev said.

Mr Putin made similar claims about the alleged discrimination against Russian speakers in Ukraine before launching the invasion on 24 February.
Ukraine's defence ministry denounced Gen Minnekayev's comments as Russian "imperialism".

In a statement posted to Twitter, Ukrainian officials said Russia had "acknowledged that the goal of the 'second phase' of the war is not victory over the mythical Nazis, but simply the occupation of eastern and southern Ukraine".

Later the Moldovan foreign ministry released a statement saying it viewed the comments "as unfounded and contradicting Russia's position in support of the sovereignty and territorial integrity of our country within internationally recognised borders".

Just looked at the other thread.....& as usual the pro-Russian supporters are spouting rubbish....& it ties in with this:-

Ukraine war: How Russia replaces Ukrainian media with its own - BBC News
QUOTE:-
"In Berdyansk, Serhiy - a broadcast journalist - was forced to lie on camera and announce he was declaring a war against so-called ''Ukrainian nationalists". The Russians said they would post this coerced declaration online if he refused to co-operate.
"There were armed people everywhere, a few dozen of them, and I think five to six of them were from the FSB [Russian security service]. They said, 'now it's Russia, and if you want to live, you'll have to co-operate'," recalls Serhiy, now safely out of the region.
For him and his colleagues, "co-operation" meant demands to divulge the contacts of local pro-Ukrainian activists and soldiers, and air pro-Russian propaganda. These were not empty threats."

END QUOTE

In the other thread they have posted up another article (Daily Mail) about that pro-Russian UK journalist, & this forum's Russian supporter states the following:-

"Lmao. The tone of that article is hilarious. Menacing interview my ass.
Interviewing pows is not against Geneva. Executing pows, which is what the ukies have been doing for 8 years, is. But Daily Mail has had its tongue up its ass this entire time. Just like the OSCE, BBC, and other lackies of Boris and his clique. Fucking posers."

Now if you remember I actually posted (post no.1,392) linked to & quoted from the Geneva Convention which states:-
"Likewise, prisoners of war must at all times be protected, particularly against acts of violence or intimidation and against insults and public curiosity."

Interviewing POWs is ok if military & not filmed...but in the context of the post re the UK pro-Russian journalist conducting a coerced filmed interview of the POW..to then post up on FB & YouTube & for it & similar to be on Russian state TV... "public curiosity" specifically means in legal terms TV interviews etc...

Just shows again that pro-Russian supporters seeding a pro-Russian propaganda agenda are everywhere & spreading twisted false information.....

Referring to the above posts re the interview by the pro-Russian UK journalist, of the captured Ukrainian army personal, who is a UK citizen, a more concise report. It also reiterates the blatant mis-information that the pro-Russian reporter was stating, & that YouTube has taken action finally!

Aiden Aslin: Captured Briton's YouTube interview removed - BBC News

QUOTE:-
Aiden Aslin, originally from Newark, Nottinghamshire, was seized by Russian forces during the battle for Mariupol.
He appeared, handcuffed, in a video posted on YouTube.
Speaking in Parliament on Wednesday, MP Robert Jenrick said the interviewer Graham Phillips was "in danger of prosecution for war crimes".
During Prime Minister's Questions, Mr Jenrick also called on the online platform to remove the video immediately.

He said it showed Mr Aslin "being interviewed under duress for propaganda purposes", and claimed that was "a flagrant breach of the Geneva Conventions". On Friday, YouTube said it had removed the video following a "valid privacy complaint".

The firm added it had also taken action against Mr Phillips, saying his account was no longer able to receive money from advertisements.

In the 45-minute interview, Mr Phillips claimed Mr Aslin was a "mercenary" rather than a prisoner of war, and told him he could face the death penalty.

However, Mr Aslin had been serving as a marine in Ukraine's military since before Russia launched its invasion. His family said he had moved to Mykolaiv in 2018 where he met his girlfriend.

Responding to the news from YouTube, his mother said she was very relieved, after finding the videos of her son being interviewed in captivity "horrifying".
"I'm happy that YouTube have recognised and taken action on removing this." Angela Wood said.
YouTube has also previously blocked channels linked to Russian state media.

Those whackjobs are from the balkans and grew up with russian propaganda - problem is that they should have stayed there. We know that anotero's girlfriend is a Soviet mole which makes him a sympathizer at the very least.

I'm sure that anotero's or Daks' employers wouldn't be very happy with the BS they are spewing here.

Here is an interesting take on countering misinformation https://time.com/6168314/psychology-persuade-russians-truth-ukraine/

Our freedoms are often a double edged sword, and some members of this forum have no clue how seething with hypocrisy they are.

We know who they are, and don’t need to give them anymore air play than the cesspool already allows.

I just thought as a point of reference as it involved the UK that I would at least place correct info out on this forum, just for everybody's sake. This also yet again proving how biased/prejudiced certain people are who then claim that we are prejudiced.

I think there's a word for it...... ........oh I remember.......hypocrite! ;)
