I am nobody's buddy.
I am nobody's buddy.
See: AfghanistanSo how long can the US keep (afford) sending over arms? This can potentially be a long war.
At least Captain Cauliflower won't have an evacuation to mangle.See: Afghanistan
Interestingly the great limiting factor at the moment is less funding, and more just the inability of industry to supply the quantities requested by Ukraine. We've sent over about a third of our inventory of Javelin's and a quarter of our Stinger's. I know we're all sick and tired of hearing about the supply chain issues, but there's an interesting parallel with the defense contractors and automotive OEM's. Both rely on technically outdated chipsets for their designs, which means securing production, and in particular expanding production is something industry isn't willing to scale to. Nobody wants to invest in opening a fab on an outdated die size for a bespoke weapon system that's only going to be in demand for goodness knows how long. Sure there's always the defense production act, but it would still take a significant period of time to spool up the new lines. So how long can the US keep (afford) sending over arms? I wouldn't call them "outdated". Every digital logic function doesn't require a Core i9, but density and complexity is where the profits are. Nobody is going to start a fab to make PLC's and 8/16/32 bit processors without subsidies and/or production guarantees. However, that's where the quantity demand is, and it comes from everywhere.Interestingly the great limiting factor at the moment is less funding, and more just the inability of industry to supply the quantities requested by Ukraine. Putin humiliated as Ukraine claims 409ft frigate 'sunk by missile' - ‘most important ship' (msn.com)
"The Admiral Makarov is said to have been struck by anti-ship missiles while it was in waters off the coast of Odessa. Rescue ships and aircraft have reportedly been sent to the area and are being tracked by US surveillance drones. "OSINTdefender", an open source intelligence monitor, tweeted: "It's seeming more and more likely that the claims about the Russian Frigate Admiral Makarov being stuck by Ukrainian Anti-Ship Missiles off the Coast of Odessa are true.
The 409-foot Admiral Makarov is one of the most important ships at the disposal of the Russian Black Sea fleet."
Remind me again...this is a land war & the opposition has no Navy?................Not going so well eh Putin??....

didn't the Ukrainian navy get absorbed when Crimea happened?you're misunderstanding.
you see Russia has ALREADY sunk the entire Ukrainian fleet. That's why Ukraine has 0 ships and Russia had to lose 2 ships to do it.
Whats that? How many ships did Ukraine start the war with now that they have 0?
Off to the gulag with you!
