What's not true? If you're saying that you were lucky enough to have your turbo replaced while being tuned than I would count yourself lucky ,it varies from dealership to dealership. Based on this thread alone I see a correlation between having a tune and blowing your turbo. Its simple physics, you're putting way more stress on the turbo which is already known to be fragile.

Before I read another post in this thread, let me clear something up. I don't think anybody pays 25-30K USD for something "already known to be fragile". Fragile it may be, but the expense is a free ticket NOT to treat it as such in my book.

It's not about anything being "fragile", a turbocharger is far from fragile in terms of its operating temperature and RPM range, but a slight oiling issue is all it takes. The car is built for it's intended use. Drive it however you want, if your turbo is going to fail it will do so at 14psi or 24 psi, either way poor oiling leads to destruction. No driving style or tune will change the outcome of your turbocharger failing due to poor oiling or manufacturer defect. It's only a matter of time, that's what warranty is for. If your turbo wasn't effected with this issue, even better, hammer down.

This. Everyone shut up about tunes causing the turbo's to fail. If it's gonna fail, it's gonna fail. Regardless of tune.
