I have just put these on my car and driven for about 300KM today. The
installation is completely successful, the ride is amazingly comfortable and
the handling is extremely sharp:D

The installation cost a whole day so it is already midnight here. I will update
this thread as soon as I finish sorting out details.

And thanks guys, you all help me a lot about these, not only about the result
but also the process :D

********UPDATE********

Installed swivels and tie rod ends:

I haven't measured the front ride height yet, but the space between fender
and tire is about 2 inches which is a little bigger than supposing (because A3
EA211 engine is lighter).

Now, here are what we actually need(my car has iron swivels in stock,
so GTi/S3/higher A3 may need less):

* TT Swivels:

P/N: 8S0407253F 8S0407254F

* TT Wheel bearings:

P/N: 8S0498625

This Maybe not necessary for GTi, but I'm not sure.

* TT inner tie rod end & outter tie rod end:

P/N: 8S0423810A 8S0423811A 8S0403812A

Here will be some more details. Like PQ35, TT swivels have different interface
for tie rods on MQB. On PQ35, there may be some security issues since TT
inner tie rod end has a shorter thread. You can read this if you want more
details:

http://forums.vwvortex.com/showthre...nthusiasts&p=77083134&viewfull=1#post77083134

However, things maybe much more simple on MQB because MK3 TT's inner tie
rod end has an equal-length thread with Golf. So there is no security issue.

But there is another proplem. Since I just keep using the stock LCA, the TT
tie rod is a little longer. So we have to cut off both the inner and outter tie
rod ends for about 10mm:

* Bolts & Nuts:

8_zps5pjp51rv.JPG

P/N (from top):

WHT005538 - M12*1.5, LCA ball joint collar nuts (maybe not necessary for
GTi);

WHT006151 - M14*1.5, outter tie rod end collar nuts;

N10500802 & N10401801 - M14*90, swivel bolts & nuts;

N91084901 - M14*1.5*55, caliper bolts (maybe not necessary for GTi).

I haven't caught the data of assignment so I cannot give out the camber
yet, but it seems to be less than 1". For a further improvement, I plan to try
on Passat LCA or SuperPro ones to get a little more negative camber. TT
LCAs may be too long.

Here is another info. Now I almost concerned that the longer LCA will cause a
lower front ride height. Thus, a 15mm~25mm longer LCA will cause a
15mm~25mm lower in ride height. And that's why I chose an adjustable
coilovers to match with TT swivels :D

Guys I have update the pics and details :D

This seems to be a best solution for roll center issues on MQB for now. I haven't go for a track yet, so I cannot give out more experiences. But for me, this is more like a journey :D

Awesome! Would love to see pics and your impressions of this vs. the B12 kit.

Cheers!

Just like Geomets mentions, Ohlins is much more better than B12 pro-kit, both in handling and ride comfort. I cannot image a coilover can provides such a comfy ride with 7KG springs, but Ohlins just does. It feels like a magnet gripping my wheels to the ground. I can feel rolling over every bump and gap, but not harsh at all. Amazing product :D

Glad you liked them, I was sure you would, though! You can not imagine how Öhlins transform your car until you try them. There's a problem though: you won't want to drive a car without Öhlins again!!!

What maintenance is needed for Ohlins? Cost, frequency, process?

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

The maintenance interval should be 30,000km for street use, according to the user manual. But the manual does not mention anything about cost or process, so I will contact my dealer or agent for advice.

Another detail is, like Geomets mentioned in his thread, Ohlins MP20 now provides bearings to replace stock ones while the top mounts still remain stock. So maybe there would be no more noise cause by crack bearing :D
