Could it be that formatting the card has formatted in a different format from default? I've never formatted mine so never looked at what format it is. I'd guess fat32?
FYI I was using a mac to expand the zip files into a blank SD card. THIS WAS THE SOURCE OF THE PROBLEM. i did the same operation on a pc and it worked fine. The additional files that mac insert into the directory seem to mess up the installation. Working perfectly now. Thanks to this post, i saved my sanity!
