Transmission error- reverse gear not available fault mk7 gtd dsg 2015

Hi anybody exepericed the fault no reverse gear available and connect to laptop at states. P174A00- VALVE 3 in partial transmission 1 electrical error


The car whilst drive will going into gear box home mode disable all gears and only when turned of it may work for a few mins


Have gave car to dealers but tbh in Nottingham they are not the best Vw mechanics as I had issues with previous work they have done


Any ideas hopefully not mechatronics but it’s looks like that.

Just to note fault came one day after my original battery died for first time so I jumped started it and changed battery next day and got it coded from vw Audi group coding specialist.. but fault happens at lest 3-4 times a day and sometimes wont go away when u take key out and back on .

I just want to make certain its not a known crashed car.

No it’s not it’s a 64 plate and I’ve brought car from dealer and done hpi and. Car is clear

I’ve owned the car for over a year it’s been good but I have had all major work done in past months like 6-7 months ago dsg service normal service new pump and belt and fuel pump and it drove fine until one day original battery died and it went it to the mode next day and the car does the fault at lest 4-6 times a day and I’m scared i might get stranded somewhere

No it’s not it’s a 64 plate and I’ve brought car from dealer and done hpi and. Car is clear

HPI isn't that good plenty of MK7 GTI & GTD which are crashed & repaired & show up as clear on HPI...& for sale at main dealers as they've bought them from auction & done HPI & not vcheck...

Also you say the BCM was recoded when the new battery was fitted...??

So the fault "P174A00- VALVE 3 in partial transmission 1 electrical error"..is what is occurring several times a day??..Are you logging it any other fault codes???

Seems to be the only fault related to the gear box that appears I’ve read into the post and they experience mechanical fault mine says electrical error as the car had the fault once yesterday and drove fine all night and today morning same issue again after 3-4 start

Have you had any luck with this? I have the exact same intermittent problem

64 plate
Same code and “electrical error”
Drives perfect then all of a sudden limp mode. Can do trips of various lengths and temperatures in between.
Have changed dsg oil with the correct method. Performed basic settings/calibration etc with no luck.

There is a known fault with the switch in the DSG gear stick shift mechanism....this is in the cabin & not the gearbox...
