I noticed this on rockauto when I was looking to replace my belt, has anyone tried it? Or just go OEM? I mean OEM is definitely the safest but just in case the continental is built better(since i'd assume they know their rubber), I figured I would ask.

Just going through and replacing all my wearables since I have an odd pulsing hum at low RPM(not related to wheel speed)

Have used Continental belts in the past for timing belt and drive belts without problems and would recommend. Could be that Continental makes the serpentine belt for VW anyway.

Hi Codeca,

Did you order this part and install it on your car?

I did and received an old Goodyear Gatorback. While they were premium belts 10 years ago, I will probably replace it sooner than the original belt with 90k miles.

The packaging and belt condition was still fine but it’s probably at the limit of its shelf life.

Continental bought Goodyear belts division and kept the same part numbers for the Gatorback/Elite/OE technology
