APR is doing themselves a disservice by not explaining the benefits of a stronger coil w/r/t allowing for a larger plug gap at higher boost levels, or at least reduce fouling. Lots of selling points besides HP.
They did, everyone just focused in the on the color, because this site is full of pedantic trolls that are smarter than everyone else.
Because they don't.Plus APR doesn't claim the coils add any HP.
Because they don't.
Quality ignition coils - The most controversial product ever created in the history of automotive products. No upgrade has ever angered so many people that simply don't seem to get it.
I love how people get in regards to this.
Does an intercooler add horsepower? Do $160 NGK racing plugs add HP? Or are their jobs something else that’s related to power?
well, read the posts (here and the ones in the other sections)! - they think the red is stupid, they are wanting to see dyno numbers, they are referring to them as an "engine upgrade", people asking "what the HELL does that even mean" (read that in Frank Costanza's voice) when told they have increased energy output, calling them rice. The list goes on and on...What don't people seem to get?
No. An IC can keep you from losing power. No to the spark plugs also unless you're tuned to crazy HP and then the spark plugs like the IC just keep you from losing power due to misfires or condition. If your current spark plugs are old the racing plugs will feel better in all respects but not because they are racing spark plugs. You would get the same improvement from a new set of stock spark plugs.
I was kind of making a rhetorical statement to show how silly some people’s mindset are...
