Kicking off a thread to get this out of @swcrow's build thread ;) but also tagging @PowerDemon @JerseyDrew77 @tigeo @DerHase for funsies

Let's do a spring G2G. I'm hoping to have local motorsports dates "soon" so that I can block off those dates, but I've got family in the eastern parts of VA that make it feasible to do like a weekend trip down and maybe hang with some forum bros. Usually up north we do food and karting and sometimes a cruise (We did one in '24 with Mud and co that was great). It'd also be cool to get to see VIR, I don't know that I have the car up to par for driving it BUT even just watching some racing there would be neat.

Tag others if they might be interested, I think @Ezekiel81923 is semi-close to me as well and I don't know who else is PA-based. But just kinda getting the ball rolling on this one.

There used to be a legit gas kart place at Richmond International Raceway, but not sure if it's there anymore....I'll check into that. Drew can chime in at VA Beach....there's def a really chill and cool outdoor micro brew place I met up with him last time at, just depends on how far we want to drive and if Drew wants to take his flying gas can out for a spin.

Meet up this spring would be legit. I'm down.

We did gas karts in GBMA '24 and it was rad. Though I gotta be honest, I'm spoiled with the electric karts now. I think it's OTR that produces them for most of the venues, and they're generally pretty good. I also have weak-ass lungs (asthma) that doesn't love the fumes in an indoor environment, though outdoor is fine. I dunno. I love karting and racing, even though I'm not stellar at it by any stretch.

oh we've got electric karts closer to where I live too, so def have options. Never tried electric but heard they are extremely fun and fast

My first time was old-school gas karts -- slow, but entertaining because I'd never driven a gokart before. Wife took me for my birthday, fun time. Then we went to a place with these OTR karts in CT, where they do like 35+mph. Huge track too, a fast lap was still like 79.xx seconds. Then the place we went to for the NE G2G in '24 had indoor gas karts that were about as fast as the electric ones I'd say. So I think it really depends on how the venue sets them up/sets up the governors.

New plan, party at Drew's 😂 Nah we can do something reasonable, typically it's me and Mrs. Nine traveling the farthest and we like the trips, so we're pretty flexible. Though I know she's not going to want to miss any racing, so it'll take a bit to get a schedule together.
