When registering an out of state car in Texas a certified inspection is required. Will an aftermarket intake lead to a failed inspection?

What if any smog test requirements are required in Texas?

Thanks,
Rob

Not sure about the certified inspection. Maybe that just means a regular inspection from jiffy lube or dedicated auto state inspection place.

As far as smog, we don't have that. If you're in urban areas, they do an obd scan to test for readiness. If you're stage 2, you won't pass afaik. You can fail 1 readiness state and still pass.

If you have obd11 or obd reader with Torque, you can scan for readiness before hand to see if you'll pass.

The only person I have known here that failed an inspection was a 2003 stock Camry that only 2 of the 8 readiness channels showed good. He drove it for 50 miles, then went straight to the inspection station and it passed. I see 1000s of modified cars that pass. Pretty sure somebody would know somebody that can help you out if it really came down to it.
