Can anyone share what has been replace for them? I’ve seen a mix of suction pumps, but also entire LPFP in some cases.

Haha!

I just noticed that I had shared my battery photo in March as well as just a few days ago. I didn't realize that I had been in this thread already. Getting old sucks! :p Fun tidbit: The two photos, show some system growth over the course of 6-12 months.

227,000 miles, that is impressive. Did you keep any maintenance records?
Of course! My 30-year career in the Coast Guard subjected me to maintaining strict records, many of which were in hardbound "little green books" before digital logging caught on. I've used little green books to document my automotive fill-ups and maintenance since buying my first new VW in 1998. I probably used spiral-bound notepads before that.

Are you new here? 😂 StealthGTI, aren’t you still on the factory struts and shocks AND you’ve never had an alignment?

That is TRUE. Tire wear is great and the car does not pull left or right. There is no excessive rebound when I push downward at each corner of the car. BUT - I've concluded that my suspension is no longer moving adequately. I don't know what to call it; so, I'll describe it: The car feels fine on the highway and is perhaps even comfortable, even though my wife does not agree (she drives a Jetta SE). However, driveways, speed bumps, RR crossings, and other bumps in the road are VERY unforgiving. While the suspension DOES move, it does not appear to be capable of RAPID movement... or true shock absorption. I think of it being akin to the "frog in the warming pot" analogy in that I've grown accustomed to the slowly changing stiffness over the long haul.

As a result, I will replace the suspension this fall with factory-like parts and add EMD's 1/2-inch "Reverse Rake Spacers" in back to compensate for the extra weight that my car carries. I'll also assess whether I need to replace other mounts, bushings, or control arms. I mentioned my logbooks above. My logwork includes documenting the ride heights over time. I think the car's current posture is nearly perfect with the exception of the small squat in the rear:

I expect it to rise one inch with new suspension (1.5 in the rear with spacer) and then settle ~1/4-inch after about three months of driving and wearing-in the parts.

Tomorrow morning for me. Gonna have them track down a slow (I think diff) fluid leak and hopefully get them to replace the starting-to-crack sunroof trim under warranty while they've got it.

Definitely report back. Curious to hear more first-hand experience with this. All the dealer told me was to bring it in with less than a 1/4 tank of gas and that it would probably take 3-4 hours haha.

Someday I'll get around to scheduling the recalls, but I'm waiting around for the car. I don't trust dealer techs
Yeah, me either, but I really don't want to stick my arm in the gas tank either haha. I'll be waiting for mine as well.

Also waiting here while they do it. They did not give me any direction about the tank being empty; mine is at about 1/4 so that works out but if I wasn’t on here I’d have never known.

It actually has it in bold in the letter I got in the mail as well.

I had my suction pump and charcoal canister replaced under a warranty extension back in 2022 (after already having the entire gas tank replaced years ago for the same issue). I also got the new recall notice but I'm planning to hold off on bringing the car in unless I have another issue. I'm fairly certain the suction pump they put in two years ago was a revised part, so I'm not too concerned. Nice to have an open recall for it, should the issue pop up for me again (currently at 165k miles and counting).
