Stuck open hatch emblem

Alright, it's winter time and you've had your mk7 for 8 plus years and every winter it starts doing this constantly, getting worse each year. I know I'm not the only one.

Has anyone figured out if it's an issue with the emblem or the gear selector not sending the signal? Super annoying.

Sometimes I'll listen and it doesn't even sound like it's trying to close. If I need to open hatch I need to jump back in vehicle and start it, cycle through reverse, and listen make sure it closes.

Wonder if the movement needs cleaning & lubrication?

I'm still pretty new around here, and I haven't seen this but seems like it would be pretty common up north this time of year. That said, to me it sounds like a clean & lube issue......?

It’s gotta be more of us
