Struts and Shocks Hardware

After 7 years on EDM springs and stock shocks, it is time to refresh.
Replacing front coilovers and rear shocks/springs soon. Probably going Bilstein or H & R.
What hardware (bolts etc) can be reused and what needs to be replaced with new?
I seem to recall a number of stretch bolts that should be replaced.
Please advise....Thanks in advance.

I would do a search. Several people have put comprehensive install documents up.

That said, another option is to go to your dealership parts counter and ask them for a list of everything VW calls for on a suspension swap, run for your VIN.

Strut mount bolts, knuckle pinch bolts, ball joint nuts, outer axle bolts on the front.

Rear shock mount bolts, plus the bolt to the lower wishbone on the rear. Also the nuts on top of both shock/struts if you're so inclined.

Every "important" nut and bolt for the suspension is torque to yield per VW. I generally reuse the stupid little things like the 10mm bolt holding the brake hoses to the knuckles, etc.

I have a hardware list there. Doublecheck vs your VIN of course, but should be pretty much what you need. Follow the instructions, download your own copy and then you can check and uncheck whatever applicable boxes.
