Dropped it off for paint today. Painter said it'll be ready on either Tuesday or Wednesday. He's charging me $50 for both. Going to wait a few days for the paint to cure before getting it wrapped. Hopefully I can install next weekend.
Did you ask the painter how long to leave it before PPFing - notice how I turned PPF into a verb

Just dropped off my flares at a body shop. 80$ to paint gloss black all around. I’m gonna do the install myself and save some $.

Just picked up. I like the gloss on these flares

Where do you apply the glue on the back of the covers? I can kinda feel where it makes contact with the bumper on the top and bottom...but there is a small gap on the side of the cover.

I'd say the small channel that goes along the outside edge. The inside edge really wouldn't have any glue on it.

I see the channel on the top of the cover. I added a pic to my post #278 regarding the gap.

The bottom...also has a channel...but it looks like its only runs from the end to around the middle.

I just want to make sure I glue it on properly. I'd hate to have one side (or both) fly off on the freeway o_O .

On this part below I believe you need to glue this (yellow) so the piece can hold on flush to the bumper.

i noticed this as well. its very minor tho

you gluing it yourself?

I'm installing myself. My biggest fear is that I didn't glue them right and having them fly off on the freeway. That happened to an ex of mine. She had an Oettinger roof spoiler on her Jetta...it flew off on the way to Vegas. No...I didn't do the install. ?

Oh man that sucks. I feel that way with my europlate on the front bumper. Luckily, it’s still holding on to 3M for a year by now.

I’m gonna use the cone looking cap that it came with to get fine lines when setting the glue.

Curious, anyone know what this is for?

I assumed to pierce open the tube of adhesive? Not too sure to be honest.
