I have the tools to do it manually so that’s the route I go, but I’m fully aware shops use an impact all the time...Personally, I just don’t want to think about it. Peace of mind based on what the instructions say.

yep I get that peace of mind thing and people should do what they're comfortable with.

I've had zero issues doing it this way. If I had the stock mount, I'd tighten the nut with a torque wrench but there's no issue breaking it lose with an impact.

Would the list of required parts be less/different for coilover install? I'm having my local shop do it, but I don't understand what all would be applicable for coilovers. I'm getting the H&R Street Performance + coilovers that come with front camber plates. I've searched, read DYI articles, and watched videos on youtube but still unsure of what's required/suggested for coilovers specifically.

Some of the hardware kits from ECS are back-ordered till mid-August

What would be the suggested parts for coilovers?

Thank you in advance, and sorry if this has been covered and i'm just not comprehending

Not familiar with the H&R coilovers specifically, but on the front you'd want a pinch bolt, axle bolts (if the shop isn't doing the 2x4 method) and upper strut mount/strut tower bolts. If the coilovers don't come with top hats you'd need the nut that goes on the shock shaft as well if you're reusing your top hats. For the rear you'd need the two control arm bolts (one goes through the hub, the other goes through the lower shock mount). I think the upper shock mounting bolts can be reused.

What about front strut bearings, are those applicable? And the rear shock mounts, do they need to be replaced?

Thank you!

Rear mounts usually don't need to be replaced. However, they're pretty cheap, so it wouldn't be a bad idea.

My car was new with 7,000 miles. I reused everything. If your car is a few years old and have 30k miles, replace.

While you're at it, add the Eurosport camber kit.
