Super clean original owner 2015 red Volkswagen GTI 6 speed manual that needs a new engine/rebuild.

I'm the original owner of this 2015 GTI. I have taken meticulous care of it. Oil changes every 5k miles. Everything done on time, spark plugs, fluid changes, etc. Car is unmodified and always has been. Only change is a switch to 17" Borbet alloy wheels and Michelin Pilot Sport A/S tires in March of 2022 to better deal with Long Island roads. I'm a mature, adult driver.

In December 2022 the car suffered an engine failure. VW says it needs a new engine (it indeed does, or at least a significant rebuild). This was common on 2015s...most had a problem during warranty. Mine lasted longer due to my maintenance habits and gentle driving.

If you have a good source for a new/used engine, have a connection who can install it, or can do so yourself, this may be an excellent opportunity for you. Confident this is one of the cleanest 2015 GTIs you can find in the area. The interior is in super clean shape, especially for 80k miles. I'm gentle on my cars.

Car has always been garaged in the same spot you see in one of the photos. Has only been parked outside since February 2023 when the car was brought home to me from VW.

$5300. Cash or Certified Bank Check.

Thanks!

I think the most tragic thing about this is your screen name implies this isn't your first engine failure.

You thought you were safe o_O (Former Subaru guy as well)

Nope - my 1999 Saab turbo had a gem of a well built engine. Took it to 170k over 14 years, then it was totalled in an accident :(

Think I should have priced it higher? I had a few hundred inquiries and around 40-50 at 4k+ and 10 at 5k+.

Guy who bought it was shocked it still had new car smell.
