That would be the more responsible thing to do, but my nine year old has been asking for the GTI as his first car since he could talk & I finally got it dialed in exactly how it should’ve came factory (WaveTrac is a game changer).
Would definitely make sense.
I’m not in any rush, and haven’t mentioned selling the GTI to my wife so if we get closer to the due date I’d probably do a full part out & sell it stock.
Yes, never been tuned (not even JB4 or anything since it’s the wife’s daily).
Still under bumper to bumper/powertrain warranty through 50,000 miles.

The new 2.0 is only available for 2024 MY, and to get memory seats I’d need a SEL which is more than I want to spend on an Atlas.
I’m comfortable in the 35-40k range, any more than that is Suburban/expedition territory & I’d rather have GTI/Atlas/Suburban than GTI/ newer Suburban for the same money.
So most likely a 2021 or 22 VR6 SEL.

I had a 23 VR6 SEL loaner for a few days the other week and I did not hate it. Reasonably nimble on its feet, smooth etc. I even got like 22 hand calc’d mpg on a highway trip which makes it more cost effective than my 27-28 hand calc Touareg running diesel.
The only thing I didn’t love was the perhaps overly sensitive throttle? You couldn’t keep a constant speed with your foot. You were either accelerating or decelerating.
But yeah I enjoyed it, and would totally get an exhaust if I ever owned one (which I won’t)
