It was a decent price ($38.9k w/ 27k miles) considering the market. Like, here's what's available for MK7.5 DSG R's with under 40k miles in a 300 mile radius to me right now.

Oh, that one that says $35.5k with 31k miles? It's been for sale for a year because it's not $35.5k, they have $8k in additional fees...

Faster and more in depth logging (including g forces, SAS, and brake pressure along with like 130 engine/DSG parameters), YOU control exactly how safe or aggressive your tune is, you know exactly if your knock sensors have been numbed and by how much, and neat stuff like map switching, configurable traction control and launch control, no lift shift(for manuals), and rolling anti-lag.

I started playing with files back in December or so IIRC, and actually tuning/flashing to the car mid-February. It’s a lot to take in initially, but worth the effort. 68 revisions later my OCD self is happy with it ? many were very minor changes, like playing with transmission rev match for downshift of the DSG to make shifts quicker, and screwing with pops and bangs. Lots of fun little “side quests” to tinker with.

+1 with OS, if you have the time to mess with it, it's super cool. I'm still working through my base map but if you like to tinker with stuff like that it's a lot of fun.

It’s funny because, for how meticulous and detail oriented I am, I’ve seldom ever had any desire to tune or tinker with the tunes.

I love that we have folks like EQT, who have pushed the envelope on their personal vehicles, and tuned enough cars safely to know what works. And I love that I can afford the pricing on their tunes (compared to APR with their Apple-esque markups and dealer flashing).

None of this is to get into a tuner debate, it’s just stating that I don’t foresee myself ever wanting to do any open source tuning on my car.

If anything, I would only take that on with my GTO with the new motor set up, and even then that’s an expensive gamble, because in today’s dollars, that engine goes for about $14k… ?

Gone are the days of affordable LSX performance (but I digress).
