Side skirt damage?

Was having some work done to my car last night, and was pointed out some huge dent under my driver side door that I never noticed beforehand. It looks pretty bad and I have no idea what caused it. How screwed am I? Is this fixable?

This. I bought my GTI like this on both sides from the previous owner. Mine isn't as severe as yours, so it was probably just from someone using a lift incorrectly. Yours looks like it fell off the jack or something and crashed down hard. I've heard the rocker panel is kind of a pain to fix because it's heavier metal down there.

Okay, I was figuring something may have happened on a lift or jack. I haven’t jacked the car up myself in ages, and never noticed it until last night. However, it was on a lift twice this week. The only other thing I can think of is about a week ago, I took a dip in the road a little too hard, and heard an awful noise. Though I’m not sure that kind of impact would be strong enough to create such a massive dent.

I have to ask if you look at your car as you walk up to it out in the wild because I walk up to mine in the parking lot at work every day and I think I'd have noticed if that skirt on my R was bent as much as yours was in the picture in the OP. I'm guessing it was fine when you brought it in and they busted it and are blaming you for it. Of course it's difficult to prove one way or the other but, man, I think I'd have noticed that.

Also, don't these guys do a walk around the car to point out any obvious damage BEFORE they take the keys from you? That's what all the shops I go to do so we are both level set on the condition of the car so I can't come back later and say "Hey, you did this to my car!" as well as my knowing if they did anything after I dropped it off. Another good reason to take pictures of the car when you drop it off to compare when you pick it up!

We are side skirt bro’s
In my case I was going out of a driveway and a car was partially blocking it. Decided to cut the corner only to hear a massive “chunk”. It’s still dented. Deciding if it’s worth it to get it pulled or just leave it. I really hate it though.

Dang. I'm not sure what I would do in y'alls shoes. Mine isn't that bad and it still bothers me on a daily basis haha. But it is one of those things that since it's not necessarily hurting anything other than your feelings, it's hard to cough up the cash to address it.

Also, this seems to be a Tornado Red issue haha.

Yeah, I've considered it. I also need to take some closeup photos and reach out to some PDR places to see if there's anything they can do. Since mine is so minor, they may be able to pull it just enough to make it invisible. The slight crease in my side skirts will still be there though.
