I don't follow the logic. If that's what is popular already why give additional benefit like a better parking space? Normally compacts and EVs are given that kind of privilege

They aren’t. That’s a parking garage downtown Las Olas in Ft Lauderdale. Above the ground level doesn’t have the clearances really needed for high ride heights, or the space to accommodate a big truck within the allocated spaces or while navigating through the building.

Then you have the Housing areas where no work trucks or PICKUP's are even allowed to park overnight.

That makes sense but they should just let them total their gas guzzling pedestrian killers that somehow pass as a passenger vehicle. I'm sure 90% of them use the bed of their truck 3 days a year to help their friends move.​
