Should I bother fighting it?

Got my first ticket while in my GTI yesterday

I was on a 60 road, but because it was Sunday everyone was driving 50 and was blocking me. I had to get somewhere asap, so I weaved my way to the front and naturally that involved upping the gas a bit. Just as I was about to slow down, a man walks onto the road in front of me and waves his hands. My stomach dropped and I just knew it was a radar cop. He clocked me at 93 lol oops?

I didn't try arguing the guy because I knew I effed up, and I would've tried flirting my way out of it if he wasn't such a douchey looking crooked-toothed uptight little man. So I just pulled the whole "I'm sad be easy on me" tearfest scene.

What would've been a $250+ fine and 4 demerit points (which would royally screw me over) was lowered to a 10 over with a $40 fine and no points, because I had a fairly good driving record this past year. I should be counting my blessings right?

Well last year I also received a similar ticket that was lowered to 10 over. And because of that minor offense, my current insurance rate was raised by $1200 a year So I can only imagine how much more it'll go up after this... :mad0259:

Should I get x-copper to fight for my ass to clear it completely? (Hopefully the trial date will be postponed enough that the cop won't even show so it'll be dismissed). Please don't say just suck it up :yikes:

What state did you get your ticket? If you're in CA, I've used ticket assasin to fight my tickets and won everytime.

Nice I am not the only one screwing up this weekend! Wish I had the ability to cry my way out of a huge ticket. Instead I say "dude" after my door gets kicked the and cop freaking the f*ck out.

Am I correct to assume before the last offense (before the 1200 hike) you had a clean driving record? If that's the case the increase for this ticket should not be as bad. You lost a safe driver discount and then a got a surcharge the last time. Thus the major increase in premium. (used to sell insurance)

I love how the story changed of you just going in and out of a few cones to driving almost 100mph in a heavily trafficked area with pedestrians around.

While this is the law, and it does "work" it doesn't work for a 93mph ticket, they will call the cop in from wherever he is and then you have NO chance of getting it reduced because you just pissed a bunch of people off..

get a lawyer or xcopper whatever that is and at least go and get it reduced.

They will always reduce it somewhat even if it still seems like you got bent over.

Suck it up. You have had two tickets lowered to 10 over, one being from 33 over and you want someone to tell you that you should fight it? You did something wrong, pay the consequence...or what remains of a consequence after your "tear fest"

Lol nope you're not alone. My record was completely clean because I only got my license 2 years ago

Aha, the negative nancy has arrived!

I am very aware that I have messed up sir. I'm human and I make mistakes. I'm just seeking a fellow dubber's opinion because I don't want to pinch my wallets even harder over high insurance. (In Canada, we pay a heck of a lot more)

Lawl you guys who hate are hilarious. Slalom king at 40 mph yeah I am CRAZY behind the wheel of a car! Not to hate myself but I am pretty sure that 93 mph on a public road is a tad more unsafe than signaling around a couple cones going "wheeeee". :bellyroll:
