That spoiler looks weird.....never seen one like that on a 911......(it could be a USA spec due to your laws)

...looks like a grab bar for your hands when you have to push the car.....:ROFLMAO:

its nicknamed a basket handle because it looks like one :)
a previous owner replaced it with a turbo replica decklid and it looked stupid especially on a narrow body coupe.

also a previous owner installed a later model rear window spoiler (goes up at where the roof meets the top of the rear glass) however they never sealed the rear glass properly which lead to me having to replace the interior (light grey to black now) due to extensive water damage.

BTW the rear basket handle is seen on early 993s (mine is a 94 - one of the earliest in the USA) as well as targas and all convertibles.

and yes Dave, I did buy a rear decklid without the basket handle and yes I had my body shop drill holes into the rear decklid to make it period correct. You should see the emails (I was at work at the time and am unable to get to a phone).

"are you sure?"
"last chance!"
"ok we are drilling!"

best,
Paul

here is a pic of what the rear looked like almost 5 years ago when I purchased her.

Like I said never see one & I've seen plenty of 993's.....mainly (on all the non special trim GT2 or RS) it's no spolier..or the official "whale tail" big turbo deck......

Having a quick Google it appears to have been made for the 993 Targa version....I think the only 993 version I've not seen!!...

had fun refinishing these wheels too... pretty straight forward.

raw (freshly blasted)
filler primer (sanded)
painted
clear coated.
