Also, no option for 0. I love my PC. Never had any problems with PCs. Ever.

Couldn't have said it better myself. I build my own PCs and upgrade parts before they become problems - shop smart and you save a ton of money.

Screw pc!... lol not. It sounds like you made a bad/uninformed purchase and are blaming "PCs".. also PC stand for Personal computers... I.E macs and Linux based Computers go under that category... So I suppose your problem now is fuck windows?Samsung?

I have an Alienware M17x, 32GB ram, 2TB HDD, Nvidia GTX card. All done on my own. I have had more trouble with that machine, before and after the upgrades. I'm all apple now.

For now I use:

-iPad 2 & 4
-MacBook Pro 13" (Late 2013) every option/upgrade
-MacBook Air 13" (Mid 2011) Also with every option/upgrade

iPhone 5 too. Not a single problem from any apple product. And yes, I worked for all this!

I just feel PCs are unstable, and I hate the UI of Windows 8. I'm keeping 7 for that one reason. For those who say Macs are limited and don't have the "open-source" freedom of Windows, thats a lie. Macs do just as much as PC's and more, and if you still want windows you can load it on there.

My late 2008 MB is a stud. Upgraded the OS and ram and thats it. Still boots to home screen in 20 seconds.

That's not an SSD right? Older ones have HDD's I think. If so that's incredibly fast. Mine start up within 14-16 seconds.

I bet that macbook is a real gaming beast compared to the M17X.

No. But at least it works, and doesn't blue screen all day. In addition the tech support for Alienware, which is much needed, is terrible. I don't even have time to play that many games anymore, I wish I did though... Still a causal gamer nonetheless, and the MacBook Pro suits all my needs perfectly. That's 16 GB ram.

you werent doing it right.

i built my gaming rig from the ground up.
you cant just buy whatever is out there and throw it onto the computer and expect it to work perfectly. also quality>quantity. id rather have a dual channel 16gb RAm set than an unmatched set of 32gb.

i did research for 3 months before buying pieces.
ive upgraded my laptop and also helped many friends build daily computers for their parents and gaming rigs for themselves.

not a single one of them has had any major issues with the components themselves..
the issues were with windows.. and windows sucks with all their service pack upgrades.

im running the earliest developer version of win7 ultimate x64
disabled the windows security and everything works amazing

Well lad-de-da for you, go start a "I love my PC" thread. :p

This thread is for those of us who have been burned by the inferior interior of a PC's operating system.

:laugh::laugh:

Oh Seattle.... it seems I am not the only one!

I have had HPs for quite a while with little to no problem. I still have one that is going on 6 years old and still runs like a boss. I upgraded to a Lenovo just to try something else for once and have been super happy with it. No issues other than lame Windows 8 which I still don't like.

I had built my own machine a few years back, I don't have the time now to look up all the stuff but all I can say is that works amazing. You do have to acknowledge that even "stock" Alienware machines have serious reliability issues. I can't tell you how many people I know who have had issues with them.

RAM beyond 2 or 4 GB is useless for like 99% of users, including most games.
