Ive got two sets of P1s in my garage. 295/25/19 for when my 305/30/19 RE71RS wear out in 3 months, and 315/30/18 for when my new wheels arrive…

I’ve got a good amount of experience watching the P1s as Sammy Valafar developed them at our PCA LA events in SoCal over the last few years. I can vouch for them being faster than anything else out there at the moment aside from a Hoosier A7, but they‘re close. They like heat and take a run to warm up in 60-70F weather. If it’s in the 50s F or below, they take a couple of runs to warm and grip up. Once they’re warm, I’ve never seen them overheat, they just stay consistently fast. Plus, they’ve been lasting longer than the RE71RS, and the Yokes. About the same as the Nankang CRSv2. They’re fast on everything, NA, ND2 Miatas, Porsches (couple GT3 and GT4 running them), C5, C6, C7 Corvettes. I haven’t run them on my car yet, but soon.
Sammy. Haven't heard that name in a bit. Is he still doing upgraded parts that look like stock 😂

Has anyone been able to fit 18 x 9 +35 with 255 35 18? I've been offered a set of straight wheels for $300, but I'm worried about that offset.

Stock mk8 front springs and 034 Camster plates gave me -2.2 camber per side as measured by my digital camber gauge, which has always been dead nats on with the alignment rack.
The next question is, how much is too much for a street car. The mk7.5 was -2.8 with lowering springs, Eurosport Camber kit and offset LCA bushings.

Only wear issue with the mk7.5 was rear tires when I played around with some toe out in the rear.

What camber guage wouldnt mind having something to keep an eye on things. As far as street car I have always heard 3 degrees but never pushed that far mine sits at -2

You can use a clinometer app on your phone for free.

Meh, it's 19 dollar bucks and it's been super accurate, easy to calibrate, and easy to use.
What are you using to get it lined up/leveled? I have borrowed some toe-plates that have all of this for measuring camber, was kind of a PITA to hold it all while maintaining level to get the value.

You use the bubble level to calibrate it and it magnetically sticks to the rotor.

Like I said, it's been spot on after every alignment. You just need a flat concrete floor to park the car on.

Alright, I want to stir the pot again because I have not seen it discussed here and well I trust people who actually autocross vs those who don't. What spark plugs are you running? I recently went EQT Stg 1 and was going to swap plugs since I am at 40k on my OEM ones. Of the guys I know 2/3 run OEM plugs but obviously there is a lot of talk about different plugs. So what are you running and how often are you changing them?

The EQT folks have a whole thing about this on their site and recemmend a certain plug, why would'nt you just use that?

I've run oem plugs on both my mk7.5 stg 1 + IC and my current mk8 stg 1.

Mk7.5 plus lasted 40k and looked good when they came out.

I don't know why you wouldn't just run stock plugs.

Now maybe region matters? I live in Florida where it's mostly warm year round. Don't know if that affects plug choice like it does with oil choices.
