damn! That sucks to hear. Hopefully it's as simple as clearing a code or changing fluid.
I'm going to request fluid change, clear any codes and do the VAQ adaptions, but I'm not sure if I'm going to be able to sufficiently test to see if it's fixed until October.damn! That sucks to hear. Hopefully it's as simple as clearing a code or changing fluid.
Before I start replacing parts on my current Mk8, I figured I would check in and make sure I'm on the right track. I went a little crazy with my last one and ended up shooting past STH into XA....which I didn't really care about, but having a chance at being competitive would be nice since my son and wife might run with me next year. I had all of this stuff on my previous Mk8 and was hoping to re-use rather than deal with FB marketplace for more crap.
Planning on stage 2 Unitronic or Stratified flex tune to run anything from 93 to full E85.
Milltek HJS DP
H&R OE coils (1/2'' drop) with OEM DCC dampers
034 LCA's with OEM ball joints. Hopefully this will get the camber close to -2.0° up front.
034 subframe locking collars
EuroSport strut tower brace
Racingline lower brace
RS3 brake ducts
Any cooling upgrades for the DSG recommended, I will probably be doing some track days too. If I break SCCA rules to have more fun, I really don't give a $hit......I'm only planning to run local events. I just want to have a fun, reliable car.

Yeah, I have an IE V2, I didn't mention any of the stuff that I knew wouldn't be an issue.Intercooler?
Not sure if that lower brace is permitted.
Anything above E10 with a tune to run it is not permitted in ST classes.

I wouldn't run any E for SCCA events. I assume that having a flex tune isn't an issue as long as I have 93 in the tank.
I will just run the LCA's to keep compliant with SCCA. Otherwise, I would run Eurosport upper strut mounts.Ah, okay.
Most everything on your list is permitted in ST. The lower brace may not be, and there’s some debate on the subframe collars.
Do you have anything for camber on the top? It’s an either or, not both rule. Either strut mount camber options, or LCA camber options, but not both.

Lower brace is more of a nice to have thing anyway........I can chuck it.
I had read that some people protest the subframe locking collars, but I've never seen anything definitive. I'm going to assume that running local events will mean that I won't have an issue with small stuff like that anyway.
I'm interested to see what the 034 LCA's with stock ball joints gets you camber wise. If you get -2, I'm totally going that route. Before I start replacing parts on my current Mk8, I figured I would check in and make sure I'm on the right track. RS3 LCA's will have an extra 10mm of poke IIRC from a previous post in this thread.I'm interested to see what the 034 LCA's with stock ball joints gets you camber wise. If you get -2, I'm totally going that route.
I'm wondering if the new RS3 arms would work and if they're longer???
I honestly don't want to mess with strut tops again. I had issues even with the Eurosport Camber Kit. Bolts came loose and right side would occasionally make noise.
Do your coils have camber plates?RS3 LCA's will have an extra 10mm of poke IIRC from a previous post in this thread.
It will probably have more like -1.8°……possibly a hair more. The dynamic camber from the increased caster is also a nice benefit.
I’ll make sure to post up my thoughts since I installed them the same time as my coilovers on my last car, so I couldn’t honestly say how much improvement came from which component.
I sold my coils (they did have them). I’m just running H&R OE springs for a very modest drop. Keeping it a bit more simple on this one.Do your coils have camber plates?
Do you have them on the car yet?I sold my coils (they did have them). I’m just running H&R OE springs for a very modest drop. Keeping it a bit more simple on this one.
I totally understand that!!Do you have them on the car yet?
I really want to keep the DCC, but want a mild drop. I've been bit by "advertised drop" before, ending up with a lot more than I wanted.
