Jlungo,
No problem on pictures. I like seeing them.
I like this material just wonder how it will hold up.
The Clubsport wheel looks great.
However this is a project I wonder how good it will turn out. I have read
others post about ending up with extra material around the spokes and not knowing what to do with it. I would want it to look and feel perfect. I think I could do it and take the time but think it might not be perfect. I like the OE wheel for now. H
Give it a try, not a high cost and you have free labor.

I like the red striped one.
Not an R owner so I would skip blue.
I am German decent but having flag colors maybe not.
GTI red!

Hey Sandman, I love the build! Very entertaining commentary as well :)

I'll be in Chattanooga early November for my next 8 month work rotation. Let's go for a drive :).

-Mike

PM me when it gets closer.
I will see if the boss will let me out of prison.
Chattanooga is a fun town. Lots of places to drive.
Good dealer also. Village VW Chattanooga. Good service guys.
Did my springs and fixed wheel balance issue. They have two good mechanics.
Would not say they are mod friendly for sure but they seem open with me after the person in the phone said they do not do mod work.
Ask for Lynn Wood. She was my sales agent. She will not know me by my forum call name. Show her some pics and she will remember I think. I showed her the lowered car when I was last in. They are to call me when their October fest gets closer. I have never attended but might if free that day.

I have thought about it but spent most of 2016 with other mods like wheels, tires and Eibach Pro Kit springs. So I need to cool a while. Did order the ECS Jack point pads to help with seasonal wheel swap. Want some better jacking points.
I also made the cardinal sin of buying the extended warranty.
I keep my cars a while and with all the options I have and electronics in this car I decided to get. The dealer also worked with me well on price and it covered more than enough of the warranty cost. If I did it would be NPM or JB1.
I have looked at a front lip from Fatlace but cost is higher and might buy after new year. I worry about being lower and scrapping with a lower lip. So far I have done well. I also am being converted to a full fledge VW nut and thought about a rack with cargo box. Not just any box but a low sleek one. With my dogs in back seat room gets tight on trips. Can not believe I think about roof racks. But I would remove when not in use. Still does not look good to me with rack only.
So, maybe in time I will get the itch. Did not think I would lower but here I am.
Thanks for the push! ;)

I like the one below but there are a couple other styles.

Front lip I like.
Just wish it was not gloss black.
Worst place for gloss black on a car.
I might have to wrap it in clear.

ECS Tuning Jack Pads

With the change back to Austin wheels for Winter coming up I wanted to get a better set up for jacking the car up. I ordered the OE jack pads from ECS Tuning. Part quality is great.
So far I have installed the rears. Need more time to install the front as I want to make a mod to the removed covers. I thought about this and also read about another MK7 owner who cut holes in the covers so they can be re-installed once the jack pads are in place.

Several people complained about installing the rears as the rubber piece does not want to go up in the hole well. On the first one I applied WD40 to help it slide in. Two edges still did not go in. I read on ECS that one owner used a 1.5" socket to help push the rubber part in first then followed up with the solid part. I do not have a socket over 1" at home, (guess I do not have any big nuts around the house.) I tried the 1 inch but it was not going to work. I found the outer edge of the hole compresses more so I rotated the part that did not go in to the outside edge and lifted the car again. In it went!
If other parts need to be pushed in then just rotate the pad by hand so the location is on the outside edge and lift again. Repeat as needed.
Once in I pulled down on the pad so I could varify all the way in. You can rotate by hand and check.

Much better way to lift the car. Also keeps the OE lift point clear on the lip for jack stands if needed. If you will be doing your own tire rotation work of other projects that require a lift, I suggest using these pads.:D

No that is not me in picture. Like to jacket however.

Isn't there some stuff out there suggesting these are only to be used with a 4 point lift and not one pad at a time with a hydraulic jack? I have a hydraulic jack with a rubber pad and I was planning on using it on the oem lift point then putting my esco jack stands- also with rubber pads- on the frame where the suspension bolts on.

Have not heard anything on 4 point lift only.
If anyone knows please share.
Everything I have found shows single point ok.
I know from lifting these feel more solid than any other location I have used.
Will keep and eye on it. Thanks.

Don't quote me on it but I heard lifting from these locations at just one point can cause chassis flex.
