The "GTI" is not a "Golf GTI" (atleast here in the US). The R is a "Golf R". It's not just advertising either, it's how VW registered the car model. If you look at all the Gov-ment sites and other registering bodies, the car is listed as a VW GTI.

Just as the Jetta is a separate model in the VW range, so is the GTI, so is the "Golf R" and so is the Golf.

Anywhoo, I'll have to track down some cockpit premium 1z.

WHEEL LOCKS - OZ Leggera HLT 18x8 - Bright Race Grey

Well Tire Rack finally got them in.
The bolt hole for OZ wheels are smaller than normal so most sockets will not fit. Even the main bolts take an adapter they send with the wheels.
Once in, Tire Rack is good about shipping.
Ordered last Friday and they came in by Tuesday. Mounted them last night. Good fit.

Ignore the dirty wheels.
A working man's car, not a trailer Queen!;)

No worries about how dirty the wheels are, they look like you are enjoying the car!

Just wanted to say keep you wheel lock key in the car with the spare. I learned this many years ago the hard way!

Yes, thanks for reminder.
When I installed the OZ wheels it made me think about the spare also.
The OZ's have an adapter so those bolts can be removed.
I also have a set of ECS flush fit wheel spacers for my Austins in winter.
So in order to install the spare if I need to, I must have 5 of the Austin OE bolts in the car. Now I have to have the OZ wheel lock adapter just purchased in the car. So I now must have a rolling tire change tool box in the car. All fit around the spare.
Making changes never simplifies anything. Most of the time.

WARNING - Not a MK7 Post - or might be for Golf owners.

Last year we purchased a 2016 Hyundai Tucson Sport - 1.6L Turbo for my wife. It was the first new model on the lot. There is one model up called the limited, which has Navigation and leather seats but is $4,000 more and not available yet at the time. My wife's prior car had leather seats but she felt the light gray cloth Sport seats would be ok. However over the 1st year she had grown to not like the easy to dirty light color cloth. I told her about a company called "Katzkin" that makes after market seat covers and a company near Nashville "Cole Brothers", that could install them. You are able to custom design what you want and after making the decisions we set a date to install. It was around $1,500 and took them about 5 hours to install. One problem - The Tucson has and center arm rest which is covered in man made leather. As we did not change the main color I did not think about keeping this being an issue. However my wife pointed out the problem first thing. On the seats I talked my wife into using black thread for the stitching as over time the light gray would get dirty anyway so now the arm rest thread does not match. Notice in 2nd picture below. I asked if they could replace and they could. A cover was ordered and I shipped the armrest back a week later and they changed. A week later back on car.

If you like to design things try the Katzkin web site. They only sell for Golf seats in the MK7.
Many other models if you like to design.

First picture is OE.

Did you check out the steering wheel wraps on aliexpress.com
Ive seen lots of pics with them post install and im going to get one. Pain in the ass to install. Its a wrap with a sewing like ours now but you need to tighten and thread it so its a tight fitment(not sure if its pre threaded).
Lots of options there

Noticed this on Ebay.
I know some like the Mk6 wheel better and I think this looks much like it.
Not sure for $975 I like it, but for some might be a need.
Listed by BoSpeed - CF MK7 Wheel.

Just sharing.;)
