In need of some forum help. Recently i started having a warning flash in the MFD and audible signal (dinging like the door is open or seat belt is off). The MFD immediately starts flashing the car logo and occasionally lights red in the hatch area. The warning chime only goes when I hit the throttle and beeps every second continuously. The chime stops when i come to a stop, but the MFD continues to flash the car symbol.

My hunch is this is a latch, camera issue as it may be sensing my hatch is open when it really is not.....?

i scanned and came up with the following to faults. i have disconnected the battery, the fuse to these parts and all the connectors to the camera and latch....no help....

any ideas?

Does your MFD do something like this?

My issue was actually the Trunk LED Strip DIY that I followed from you. For some reason the LED Trunk Strip combined with tapping into the deautokey LED Trunk Light housing didn’t like each other.

So I had to remove the LED Trunk light housing and put the OEM one back in with the trunk strip adapter.

Anytime I opened the glove box or turned on the dome light for all lights the MFD would light up with the hatch blinking. Maybe it started when I added the footwell LED because it wasn’t like that when I first installed the trunk strip.

Seems like something else electrical is causing your issue.

The MDF flashes the whole car, so not exactly like that, but i have never seen this before and my led mods have been in for nearly 2 years....i’ll have a look, but my trunk strip hasn’t been in for awhile as i have the hatch cover in storage right now...

thanks for the idea...i know it’s electrical just can’t find the source.

Yeah, funny thing is even when I disconnected the LED Trunk Strip from the quick connect I still had the issue. It only went away when I disconnected the original light in the corner. That's when I decided to just put back in the stock housing and use the LED Trunk LED adapter instead of having 2 light sources. So I have no backup light when I remove the hatch cover. So just take that out first. Makes no sense but that was just my case scenario.

It's a VW...they have weird electrical issues. Lol.

Wow, nice. That mod is starting to grow on me, I don't really care about my infotainment system, but that looks nice.

Absolutely perfect. Got that OEM feel.

Hi sabo,

Did you use the 2 or 4 pin momentary switch? Amazon is out, I guess AliExpress is good for alternative.

Yikes, I figured he'd be gone by now. Anyone has any idea which I should use?
Go for the 2 pin, you are just connecting the 2 wires (positive and negative).
