The manual will always err on the side of caution, they got one manual that goes out everywhere which has to cover people driving the car in hot humidity, in snow, on ice, at altitude etc.
Just drive the car normally and change the oil after about 1500km.
You know it, I get upto 3000 revs no problem in my gti taking it steady. The R wants to go all the time when drove the mk6 model, I don't know how I'm going to take it steady with dsg when my R arrives as it just wants to drop down and go. It was serious fun when drove mk6, like a wild dog straining at leash. Just wants to go and have people.
