RPM / Tach signal for dyno

Can anyone confirm where to pick up tach signal off coil 1 for the dyno ? Saw a post from 2016 that mentioned purple and green wire.
Or is this even necessary anymore

Problem is with OBD it requires a splitter so I can log with the AP and the AP won’t work on a splitter. Went with rev match method but it took some tweaking. Was giving odd readings here and there. Mustang dyno.
