It's all about preferences. Strapping a bike or anything else to the exterior of your car is always going to be about compromises. You should look at what works for you and your needs. Make a list of pros and cons for each and system then make *your* decision.

It sounds like the original poster puts weight on looks, safety, sound, height, and wear and tear on the car itself.

You have to cut the rear diffuser to install a hitch, it looks like shit and it adds weight. It also isn't easily removeable. There is zero appeal - no take that back, there is negative appeal for the hitch option IMO.
