Quick update on my setup of not cutting into the loom, my crimp terminals and connectors turned up this weekend, I had to make a shot extension of the power line to the camera as it ended up been 20cm too short (seen here prior to the connectors arriving. I also re crimped the cam lines from the camera with the TE micro 1.2 crimps, and used an appropriate connector type so I just had to de pin the body connector wires and plug them into the new connector.

the connectors were a touch bulkier then I expected, but they fitted in well enough.

Tomorrows job is heading to the dealership to the have the Active display instrument cluster installed (they just have to code it in) and maybe also get the windscreen done if they allow it (sacrilege in this thread)
Extensions are a must for retrofits. either you will make your own cables, or you will buy ready-made cables and extend them :)

And if you don't care about using traffic signs, if you want a super lane tracking system, using a 2Q0980653 type camera will be much, much better. I will do that on the weekend
I've been reading about these 2Q0 cameras. These are the ones being installed with a 3d printed adapter, yes?

How does losing traffic sign recognition impact pACC? Or does it?

Definetely you will losing the pACC. But swap code can solve that (2Q camera needs swap codes) .

Hi everyone, I have enjoyed reading many pages about this project. I am in Italy and you will excuse me if my English is not perfect. I would like to add the camera for the lane assistant, I have a 2017 Seat Leon with ACC. the camera code should be 3q0980654 correct me if i'm wrong. There are various versions where the letter changes at the end, the last should be H. I only have VCDS. Is there anyone who's done with this software? I calibrated the ACC after having had an error and it proved to be reliable. After I should think about how to fix the camera and I really like projects where the camera is separated from the brain with 20cm cable seems like a good idea. Can you give me some more advice?

Hi. I replaced the windshield in my car and set up a 3qd980654 camera. So far I had a mirror with light assist. I do not want to replace the mirror with those without a camera, now I have this mirror on.
Will you help me set the encoding so that there are no errors - Encoding light assist from the mirror camera to the A5 camera?

Do you realize that there is not plastic trim pieces that will fit around your mirror that has light-assist and also cover up the A5 camera?
I was in same situation and tried a few different things, but in the end, just bought the new mirror (ebay).

for those who have used the 3Q0 camera which extension did you use and what length
hai, I tried to extend the 3Q camera by 400mm but it was impossible because of an error. I'm using black film and double sided tape to attach the front sheeld.

I was planning to buy these parts, are you sure it will not fit this mirror?

All I can say is that on my car (Mk7 GSW) that came without Lane Assist, but had High Beam Assist camera mounted to mirror, those trim pieces would not fit.
To prove that point, the 3G085863482v part (and its mate) does not have a hole for the camera to "see" through. Even without the HBA camera mounted to my original mirror, the trim pieces did not work.

Some Chinese company is selling a mount for the camera that is 3m taped to the windshield. I'll try and find a link.

After adding the lane assist camera, I still have one red error in the A5 module - U112100 - Databus missing message. Communication is missing, but I don't know with what. Below I paste the coding of the 3QD980654 camera, I hope you will find some error here.

My car: MK7.5 2.0TDi DSG, Led Mid, LightAssist(in mirror before), PLA.
