well, i was backing into my garage yesterday and fucking destroyed my passenger mirror housing!! crap, lol. Luckily found a used oem one with a white cap on ebay for a reasonable enough price and will have to go through replacing it next week sometime.

Figured while i got the door panel off i have some sound deadening butyl material and closed cell foam so i can at least so some deadening as well. May start doing the rear hatch area too. On a roadtrip to grandmas' last week for thanksgiving i noticed the road noise is real back there, since there is literally no sound deadening

Good news and bad news

Ordered 034 motor mounts, accidentally ordered for a mk6! Good thing i was smart enough to look at the mounts before tearing my car apart. Now i gotta return these which i got on special but lose out on the deal i COULD HAVE had for mk7 mounts lol.

But i replaced my passenger mirror and did sound deadening. Now that i got the free time i was gonna spend doing the mounts im gonna sound deaden the rear hatch :)

Sound deading for the whole rear hatch and rear seats complete. Ftr took 3ish hours, wasnt too bad short of reassembling all the panels in the back.

Used noico 80mm butyl vibration damper and noico 160mm closed cell foam. Upon first drive there is definately a deifference in how quiet the ride is, even on smooth roads. Bumps
sound much less intrusive. Glad i did this!

ordered a 'scratch and dent' item from ECS - The 034 dogbone mount. Great price and figured if i'm gonna get the engine rocking under control lets go all the way!

Random note- has anyone ever had what sounds like a loose bolt or something rattling around under the dashboard? I got that and every damn turn i take i hear it sliding/rolling across and it's driving me nuts. Don't make me take my whole dashboard apart!!

Today at 68434 miles

Had my giys jay745 and gestapo (forum members) install 034 street density mounts and an HPA dogbone.

Shifts feel nice and crisp for sure, definately no more engine rocking back and forth. Some added nvh but not bad. Still wheelhops - bummer!

Also did oil change, shifter alignment and new accessory belt. :D

hey all!

Well, looks like I am able to keep my car! It's been 'for sale' on here for a few month and no bites.
Was potentially selling it cause my wife and i were trying to figure out how to save more to get a house this summer, buuut we put in an offer and got accepted on a place! So excited to have our own garage!

Modding, of course, will be slow for quite some time i imagine, but still have my dreams of doing an IS38, Downpipe, clutch and any other supporting mods needed, maybe by the end of this year... but you know how that goes when you got a house to pay for!!

Im just glad I didn't sell this car because honestly, short of a golf r which is just way out of my true budget, i don't know what else i would really want later on short of yet another GTI. Its a perfect little car and i got this one for such a good deal for what it is, don't think i'd be so lucky next round.

Went to GRD and got some apr fender decals today for the hell of it. Unfortunatwly there was a mixup and i got one silver/red and one black/red. Wanted black/red only but didnt realize till the silver one was already laid down lol. It clashes with the bronze wheels but looks more subtle. Thoughts?

Hey all! Well, my wife went through with the townhouse. 3bed/3bath, 1900 sq foot, very contemporary/modern which is totally my style. Very happy with it! Some progress pics of how are setting things up.

Finally gave my pig a good handwash and seal for the first time since, dare-I-say, November?? December?? I felt so horrible but had zero time all winter to wash it, and am planning on actually polishing it, so said 'fuck it' and took her through machine washes a few times over the winter. ouch!

also finally put in my mojo mats and those sun-visor decals. hate to say it but many seem right - the decals do NOT seem like they are gonna stick; they were peeling off while removing the backing! hoping a little action with a hairdryer helps but i'm not feeling too confident. shame because they look so good!
