You should do the sound deadening. I had a vibration coming from one of the rear door cards in my A4, fixing that escalated into lining the inner and outer door skins as well as the door card with Kilmat. I had already done the trunk so I had the material left over but I think the whole box was $60 shipped iirc and it did the trunk and doors. The difference was quite noticeable. I'm sure it would be night and day doing the floor of the tig with the doors."WHILE YOURE IN THERE" came to mind a good few times; do more sound deadening, re-do the 'doomed to sag eventually' headliner... and sure, a cage lol
Yeah, doors are known to let a ton of noise in when I did just the front doors with the 3 layer approach(damper/ccf/mlv/ccf) it was a huge dif. alone and that was only front doors.ok, it is finally all back together! what a fun two weekend job.
i only have 3 leftover screws. i only broke ~3 clips, two of them were for the dead pedal which gave me a good excuse to buy an aluminum pedal set lol
i broke 1 connector (ripped the visor off which just tore the vanity light connector our whoops lol. Found another broken/corroded connector where the passenger seat plugs are; which explains why the passenger seat recline doesnt' work.
the sound deadening was a great idea overall; the road noise would be gone, sans for hearing it through the doors now which is honestly kind of funny and total proof to me and how effective sound deadening is! but now of course that means i'll have to do the doors one day.
ok, it is finally all back together!
