I almost bought a turbocharged Cobalt SS brand new waaay back then, but ended up not because the dealer wouldn't budge off of MSRP. At the time I had a 2004 STi and I wanted something with a little less edge in the suspension.

I'm happy I held out and got a GTI instead but I still think those Cobalts were pretty awesome.

It is not going! I need to update title lol. We decided, for now at least, we don't need another car. My wife only drives a few times a week; needs to go to her office only once every two weeks. So she can borrow her moms car whenever she needs basically. Fine by us for now, as we found out we are pregnant! Expecting in April 2024. So we can save the $ for now atleast.

CTS Short Shifter (front to back) and solid shifter bracket bushings. Improved throw dramatically, still have plenty of slop; will need to do some dieselgeek stuff.

What's the IL 'classic car's emissions exempt limit? If there is one.

the trick used to be registering it as a sporting car or maybe a show car - jay's car was in that for a good while then the law changed recently.

now the only trick is to register the car to an address down south away from the chicago area counties.

i think 25 or 30 years old is when emissions isn't required on a car here
