Regret not buying Performance Pack?

As title says. Basically, I've read all the threads regarding if people should buy it or not.
Now, I'm curious to know whether or not the people who didn't buy it regret their decision at all.

Edit: I'm in Canada, so the PP is only available on the fully-optioned 5 door GTIs.

I have it and I'm not really sure I need it with the type of driving that I do.

10 HP more. Who would notice that.

Don't know if I'd notice not having the PP front diff

Bigger brakes look better though. Car stops so well. But again, in regular driving, would you notice?

I just like knowing that I got all the goodies. Lol

No choice. Wanted 2dr/6spd. Bought in Sept. My only option was that I had very few options.

I had a base model for a month before I got my sport with the PP. Cant say I noticed any difference . Now the lights are a whole new level.

For the extra cost in Canada it wasn't worth it for me as my car isn't tracked. As a DD PP isn't needed so no regrets

Think my SE non power pack does the job no regrets here.

PP was a must for me, glad it came together with the LP on the new 17s. Brakes probably don't make a huge difference on the street aside from looking cool and +10hp means nothing especially with the tunes available.

The diff is where its at, its damn good imo. There is zero understeer at speeds that can be realistically achieved on public roads. Car stays so damn planted around corners. Haven't had a chance to track it yet but will now in the summer, we'll see how it holds up.

The PP, LP, and plaid seats make the car for me. Only thing keeping it from being my perfect DD is the 4 doors as I only wanted 2 but I can live with that.

Making the switch from a WRX, I am glad I got the performance pack.

Before, I was convinced FWD<<<<<<<AWD. But honestly I think the GTI might handle even better than my old WRX.

I'm just glad that I got the highest performing option available (aside from the R of course).

And the brakes are great!!

Also, maybe it will add a bit of resale value down the road?

If you can afford it/ its available, you should get it, but if you just wanna get the car now, I don't think it will be a super huge difference. marginal.

OK here it is:
The lighting package would be welcome. With the LP I could probably go faster at night but I instinctively slow down a bit after I flick the headlights on after many years of experience with Halogens. The complex and expensive HID/ballast system is falling out of favor anyway, if the choice was modern LED lights all around I would be more in favor.
The bigger brakes look cool but are going to be much more expensive when time comes to service/replace the rotors. The only performance advantage for the big brakes is that they don't fade. If you are experiencing brake fade driving anywhere except the track you will not be driving much longer anyway.
The added 10hp is less than a 5% increase and not really worth mentioning unless you are driving in competition.
LSD is the big one. The Haldex-based system is electronically controlled and may require servicing at some point. It "kicks in" during cornering at speeds/g loads which should probably be avoided on public roads anyway. Still, LSD is a real driving performance enhancement in any car and it would probably help out in snow or ice as well. I would prefer one of the two excellent mechanical systems available, but they cost about $2 grand all in.
Finally, the wheels on the 2017 sport package look a bit nicer, IMHO.
There is no right or wrong answer here. My base model MT GTI hit the sweet spot for me, but it is my grocery-getter. If you are buying the GTI as your only performance car get the one you can afford and don't worry about it, you could have spent more money to get an even higher spec Golf R or maybe a BMW, or saved money with a more practical and still sporty Golf variant.

I think the Greek has a good point about the differential. That's the one thing you CAN feel on the street.

That's my current dilemma. I don't want all the driver assist stuff, yet it's being jammed down my throat in order to get PP.

The cost difference between a normal autobahn w. Leather vs fully loaded for PP is about $4k. Basically, it means PP is going to be a $4k option which I'm not sure is worth it.

I could care less about the added 10hp, but coming from a MS3 with a LSD makes me worried that I may be taking a downgrade which may help in the snow come winter time. The bigger brakes are a safety thing for me as well if they do stop the car quicker, although I know tires will be a larger factor to stopping.
