So this year alone, I bought 3 pairs of headphones. All 3 were sony, 2 studio headphones and 1 earbud. Both studio headphones broke, due to the cheap plastic, and the 1 earbud the left side gave out.

So I've been researching on treating myself a proper set of real headphones. I started off with a budget of no more than $99. My search and budget brought me to the Audio Technica ath30 as being the best for the price range of ~$50. Reading through, I thought it was a solid entry to higher quality audio. Then I read about the Audio Technica ath-50, which is the #1 selling set of cans in amazon. It was described as a set of headphones that could easily be priced at the $300+ range. I initially got drawnback from the $150 pricetag. But then I saw countless videos of how amazing these cans were and their quality of sound delivered. I thought, okay i'll go for them.

That was until, I read some negative reviews about the lack of low's. Im not a basshead, but I do love me some rumble. So I kept searching, I found other cans that delivered more pumping bass, but they lacked in the clarity of the mids and highs.

That was until I saw a comment on youtube about someone asking if the 190£ pricetag was worth it for the Custom Pro One. And someone replied, hell yes!...Then I researched it, found out it was from the company Beyerdynamic. Which is on the high end of quality in terms of headphones. The custom pro one, was described as a great pair of headphones that are a great way to enter the more profound, audiophile world.

The $229 price tag though, was double and then some of my initial budget. Then I saw them on amazon for $200. I still was not sure if I wanted to spend that on a pair of cans. That was until I read about the adjustable bass control on the cans. The reviews I saw had them rate the clarity, crispness, quality, sound equally on par with the famed Audio Technica ath-50's. Now with the added bass, I can adjust it to enhance a certain genre of song. I still was a bit unsure of the 200 price tag though. Then I saw that I had a $20 credit from my discover card. I didn't think about it twice and hit 1 click purchase.
Theyre supposed to come in on Friday. I can not wait.

Other cans I was looking into was;
Sennheiser Momentum
Vmoda M100
Audio technica ath-50
and some others too but those were the most noted ones.

Stage 1 tune was simply too much for my stock clutch, so I picked up a South Bend Stg II daily. The south bend clutch I have in my DSM sold me on this decision.

Huge thanks to Nathan Conrad at HSTuning for getting this clutch to me ASAP. Seriously, it took like 3 days. I was waiting 34 days through APR before I finally canceled the order.

I hope to take a few days off of work to do the install, so the plan is to a more extensive DIY for you guys.

This showed up on my doorstep today.

Especially nice since the silly quad tips the prior owner welded on are rusty as hell right now.

Installed in 20mins:

Traded in my Nikon D5100 + cash + gift cards for a Nikon D7100. It's a beast, so many more functions but with the bit of playing I did so far I find it more enjoyable then the D5100.

I just spent a few hundred dollars on Cree LED light bulbs for in our house. They are expensive, the 75 watt equivalent is a little over $20 a bulb, but they are dimable, they are coated in like a rubber coating so they glass is super durable, they LEDs light instantly (not like the CFLs) the cost to run the bulb for 3 hours a day every day is $1.60 per year, they have a 10 year warranty and the expected life is 20-25 YEARS being used 3 hours a day.
