Everything appears to be working now. It still runs hotter than it used to. Is it the fresh motor? The Turbo? I don’t get it. But it’s not overheating and the fans came on low.

Not sure who you are tuned through, but I know that Cobb and Eurodyne unlocked additional cooling parameter tables in the past couple of months. I just looked through the ED ones last night. There are head temperature dependency tables as well as a fan duty cycle table dependent on the ambient temp. In the ED file is says "temp surrounding" or something like that for the fan duty cycle.

Might be able to get those cooling tables altered to help bring down coolant temps.

Scratch that. I guess the 2.51 is for staged tunes and older custom tunes.
Car is being dropped off for PPF on the front today.

I have no doubt they will implement the same table changes for cooling to any custom tunes.

Mind if I ask how much ethanol you're running and how close you are to maxing your 925cc MPI injectors? Lots of people running XLs on 925cc setups but not many running built motor boost.

Havent even gotten to the ethanol tune yet. Sorry.

Picked up the car today after getting paint protection film installed on the front and hood. Working on putting more break in miles on the engine before more datalogging.
Today I got the fuel pump controller mounted and the rear seat put back together. Swapped out the incandescent visor lights for factory LED units.
last week I retrofitted power folding mirrors.

First oil change today at 450 miles. I don’t know what to expect so I guess this seems typical.

I would imagine that you might get some very tiny metal particles since you are breaking in the engine right after a build. What break-in oil did you use?
Motul 10-40 mineral provided by the builder

So when I changed the oil I noticed the corner of the pan that had leaked previously appears to have some seepage possibly. Uncertain if I cleaned it before so I cleaned the shit out of the pan and undercarriage. Now I’ll know if that corner is leaking. What I failed to notice before is that the tab on the upper pan is actually broken off. Clearly visible in the pics from March. I looked at our GTI and pics on Google and clearly there is a piece snapped off. Not sure how I missed that. It must be related. How tf does that even happen ? I assume it was dropped at some point. I didn’t bring it to the builder that way but I have a photo from when I picked it up and it’s broken.

This car is going to be the death of me I swear. In an attempt to connect analog boost and ethanol content sensors to my older V2 P3 i discovered there was a short in the box or harness. Plugging in the ethanol adapter made the boost reading crazy or pegged at 22. I replaced it with a new V3. Now I have good boost and vacuum but the ethanol content shows 0. Which I find impossible. The worst of it is that after I locked the car the alarm starts going off. I disconnected the power to the ethanol adapter and the alarm doesn’t go off. Wtf. I used a fuse tap at an existing 5amp fuse (#49 I believe). I used a known good chassis ground behind the battery. The P3 adapter for ethanol (EVSA) must be bad.
