Is there anything in this picture that you can see that's helpful? I was a guest of LIQUI MOLY/ FCP during the VIR event last year and took a few engine bay shots.

Time to contribute again! Surprisingly, TCR cars DO NOT have external oil or DSG coolers, they use the factory ones. As for baffled oil pans, iABED is the only one that makes a full replacement. I was talking to Issam a while back regarding the possibility of a weld-in solution like what Moroso does, but he tells me even with the steel pan it's not deep enough. A better option is to plumb in an Accusump.

Also, for people wanting to address fuel pickup issues, time to plumb in Radium, USRT or IE surge tanks! Something people here rarely talk about!

The top plate appears to have a doghouse+baffle arrangement like the VWR CC, but assembled by welding vs. bolting, and routed straight to the intake tract through a hose from the top of the doghouse, instead of to a catch can through a hose from the front of the doghouse. Probably the most efficient arrangement possible.

H All,

Was wondering if anyone tried the adapter from a SMART ForTwo instead of those mentioned previously?

Video Here @2.35min - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=58bqc6J__cQ

AliEx - https://www.aliexpress.com/item/330...chweb0_0,searchweb201602_6,searchweb201603_55

MOCAL UK also has one, Type M - http://www.mocal.co.uk/products-octakeoffs.html
As described here - https://www.evilution.co.uk/413

Would be too good to be true if it worked without issue?

Regards

Some pictures O got from the Ali Ex link.

Hmmmmm, that looks suspiciously close, but I can't see the connection between Smart and VAG? Buying one just to check.

If you look closely there is a huge CC where the battery was. You can see the hose from the plate connected to the can and then the stock hose connecting to the inlet.

So, here's some pics from one of the techs/pit crew of HRD who runs the FCP cars as well as several others (including their own). I'll quote Tim on some stuff (we were discussing this in depth today haha):

....Very basic, pcv runs to the side, vented at the top into the air inlet pipe post air filter...

.....Yeah looks very simple, looks like it has an internal baffle as well. You can see the diagonal weld on the front....

Also attached the RS3 LMS parts list as well as the GTI.

FCP was telling me its just an atmospheric dump and not exactly a "catch can" when they showed me the car.

My co driver for autocross and endurance races just got picked up for a TCA seat with Honda and I was looking over the race car. Seems they're using a triple pass radiator and the factory water to oil cooler. Interesting.

I'm guessing like most proper racecars the radiator is a thicker core, angled, has a ton of air flow from a larger bumper, and isn't nearly as obstructed. Proper engine bay packaging can do so much for overall temps.
