Private plate change. Need advice ASAP!

Hi everyone. Not sure this is the correct place to post so I’m sorry if not.

I bought a private plate for my Golf through the DVLA. I received a receipt in the post, a V750. I assumed I would receive a new V5C from them with my new registration plate number but I haven’t. I have the receipt to prove I’ve bought a plate but nothing else.
Do I need to return my V5? There’s nowhere on it to fill in that I’ve had a new registration.

I can’t find out online the process and now I’m panicking. Can anyone please advise?

The V750 confirms your right to own the new reg. You will get a new V5C - it can take about 2 weeks but the DVLA are usually much quicker than this. You should also receive a document (eV948/1) that you need to get a pair of new number plates; you will have to show this document plus the new V5C to get the plates made. Don't forget to tell your insurers when you change the reg.
