As the good weather comes out so do the fast(er) cars...

This weekend I was in Mexico and I ran into what appeared to be a Porsche 997 911 Carrera GTS. He passed me in the left lane so I changed lanes and got on his bumper to see if he would play and sure enough he took off. I dropped into 3rd at about 70 and took off in pursuit. I moved back into the right lane and proceeded to pass him in the right lane by about ~100mph. I put about 1.5-2 cars on him before I let off. He was a good sport and gave me two revs as he passed by me and went on his way. Sweet looking/sounding car for sure. Definitely the best/most satisfying race I’ve had in this car... She got a real good detailing after that :ROFLMAO:

Last week I got some Michelin Pilot Sport All Season 4s mounted on my winter wheels. I wanted 235s because wider=better but I decided to stick to the stock size of 225/40/R18 on the stock 7.5” wheel because I knew the Michelins run wide for size. The wheels had some old Pirelli Cinturatos on them from the previous owner and they were 245s o_O So far with the 225s despite their smaller width they have already provided better grip in every performance metric. I am very pleased so far. I hope to see even better performance once they “break in” a bit more.

Since I didn’t have a torque wrench on hand at the time the wheels were put back on, I pulled them all off today, washed them thoroughly, and torqued them back down. The wheel barrels and brake calipers have needed washing for a long time. Enjoy some brake porn ;)

Quick report on the tires. Simply fantastic. They dead hook in second gear from a 40 roll just standing on it and I have yet to break them loose in a corner. This is all on stock suspension no less. No sway bar no nothing. I would say these have the same or better grip than my WIDER 235/35/R19 Firestone Firehawk Indy 500s. Simply unbelievable grip for an all season tire. It really makes me wonder how much better the Pilot Sport 4S must be... Anyone want a set of Indy 500s with like 3000 miles??? :ROFLMAO: In all seriousness they are good enough that I have been questioning whether or not its worth it to maintain a second set of wheels with summer tires on them. These are also nowhere near as heat sensitive as the Indys which is SWEET. Overall a fantastic tire and I recommend it to anyone looking for an all season tire.

Also this weekend I gapped a E36 M3 and a tricked out Veloster N. Got a thumbs up from both. That M3 was mint... Guy said it only had 40k miles!! Last weekend I had a run with a buddies 2014 Charger 392 with long tube headers, intake, and a tune. I had a passenger and all my tools so +200lbs over my normal race weight and we were dead even up to about 120 when we let out. Best run I’ve had in the car for sure.

Bought some overpriced wheel hangers from Raceseng a few months back. Makes wheel changes soooo easy. Plus this set is just so cool. Ought to be for how much it costs 😂

Also changed my 15k mile NGK Racing plugs to the Brisk ER10S plugs. I only switched to them because the NGKs are impossible to find. They’re so cheap I’m just going to pull them once at 2500 miles to check the gap and replace them every oil change interval. Oil analysis came back clean.

Only thing of concern this service interval was the oil cap. It seems to have developed a slow weep around the cap. I plan to swap caps and monitor it. I really hope it’s just that and not excessive crankcase pressure. When I replace it I’ll do the PCV test as well. (Piece of paper on oil fill)

Send a prayer for my rings lol

Oh and I put the summers back on 😎
