Power folding mirror retrofit now mirror adjustment not working

Hi, I recently purchased the power folding mirror kit from urotuning for my 2016 GTI MT 2DR and the install went great but now I’ve got no power mirror adjustment and the mirrors will not fold using the knob on the inside of the drivers side door. The mirrors fold when using the key fob to lock the car and they unfold when I unlock the car using the fob. I used obd eleven to do the coding and adaptation. I’m thinking maybe it’s a bad switch since the switch won’t do anything. Or possibly missed something in the adaptation part. Anyone have any ideas as to what the problem might be? Thanks in advance.

Did you check if you have 592/593 door modules? If you have 392/393 modules, the mod won't work until you install the 592/593 modules.

Any codes if you scan about open circuits or that would indicate something isn't plugged in right? My hunch is either that or a bad switch as you mentioned. @Kushdaiin is definitely right on the door modules too.

No codes but I did look at the live data and nothing I do with the switch is registering at all so I think it’s either a bad switch or it didn’t get plugged in correctly or at all. Going to check that today. As far as the door modules I thought that all GTIs have the correct ones it’s only golfs that have the 3 series modules. Also if they were the incorrect modules wouldn’t the mirrors not work at all? Because they work with the key fob when I lock and unlock it. The problem is just nothing with the switch works. Thank you for your replies in helping me sort this issue.

No, I believe only the R and autobahn trim levels came with the 5 series modules. A quick VCDS scan will show what modules you have.

Would the power folding mirrors work with the key fob if they were the 3 series modules? Cause the mirrors fold and unfold with the key fob just not with the switch. Knowing this bit of information would be very helpful. I’m just about to go pull the door card off and check to see if the switch is plugged in correctly or at all. I don’t have VCDS but I do have the pro version of OBD11. Where would I find the info on the door modules using that?
Thanks,
Shawn

Look into the driver door / passenger door control modules and then go into "info", it'll be the end of the hardware number (so for example, my Mk7.5 SE has 593 (driver) and 592 (passenger) control modules.

View attachment 312067LOL!! My dumbass forgot to plug the switch in. I should’ve just checked the obvious thing before I wasted a bunch of everybody’s time. My apologies.

Everything is working like it’s supposed to. I can adjust both mirrors. Mirrors fold and unfold with the key fob, with the knob and the passenger side mirror lowers when put in reverse but doesn’t go back to the original spot until I turn my car off. Anyone else have that problem? Or know how to make the mirror go back to its original spot once I take it out of reverse and put it in first gear? I appreciate everyone’s help, this forum is full of a lot of really great, knowledgeable people. Thanks again.
